Department of Recreation Flyer Announces Upcoming 'Game Room' Activities for Teens
January 28, 2008
To the editor,
The posting today on the village website from the Recreation Department is a welcome one for which we are grateful. There have been recent posting and commenting on the success or lack thereof of the newly renovated Game Room in the basement of the Municipal Building.
Comments, suggestions and general debate about “why” it was underused and if it was underused and the reasons for its success or failure were published and discussed both in the Gazette and on Crotonblog. Some read the posts as criticism of the Recreation Department Staff and nothing could be further from the truth. To be sure there were suggestions made for better utilization of the new room but none against our recreation staff. They are the best!
It was great to see the immediate response from them and the redefinition and adjustment to open and the clarification of other group usage at non-open hours. Susan Menz and her department work really hard to be responsive to the needs of the community and this is a fine example of exactly that.
