Croton Police Blotter - Week of February 3rd

February 4
6:38 PM: There was a report from an employee at the Hudson National Golf Club that sometime overnight, someone drove a vehicle on to a putting green causing damage. The matter is under investigation.
February 6
12:54 PM: Croton firefighters responded to a report of a burning odor in a home on Quaker Ridge Road. Shortly after arriving on the scene, responders determined that the cause was a faulty heating system.
5:14 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle traveling on Route 9 North. Upon investigation, the driver, a 28-year-old female resident of Peekskill, with driving with an invalid license and criminal impersonation. The woman was taken to police HQ where she was released on bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
February 7
1:51 PM: An employee at the the GNC store on South Riverside Avenue reported an incident of shoplifting where two men stole two bottles of a male enhancement product and fled from the store on foot. The matter is under investigation.
3:18 PM: There was a report from a resident of Tappan, New York that while her car was parked on Brook Street, her purse was stolen from inside. The matter is under investigation.
7:14 PM: There was a report about a suspicious vehicle that was parked in a lot at the end of Gerstein Street, next to the Croton Harmon School District office. Upon arrival, police found a 47-year-old male resident of Ossining inside the car operating a sexual device. The man was taken to police HQ where he was charged with obscenity in the third degree and later released after posting $500.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
February 8
2:45 PM: There was a report from a passer-by of two males applying graffiti at Vassallo Park. Patrol responded to the scene and arrested both persons, a 15- and 16-year-old residents of Croton, charging them with criminal mischief. The older of the two was also charged with unlawful possession of Marijuana, a violation. The youths were taken to police HQ and later released to their parents.
February 9
5:36 PM: There was a report from an employee at Hunan Wok restaurant on Grand Street that an unidentified male walked into the store and stole their tip jar, which was located on the counter. The matter is under investigation.
