Croton Police Blotter - Week of February 10th

February 11
5:13 PM: There was a report from a passerby of a man who was attempting to pry open a door to a car parked on Grand Street. Patrol responded to the scene and determined that the man was the owner of the car and was trying to open a car door that was stuck because the locks were frozen.
February 13
11:19 AM: Croton Fire Department responded to a call for mutual aid for a structure fire at the Colonial Terrace catering facility, located on Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor.
11:35 PM: A 35-year-old male resident of Peekskill was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument at the Croton Police HQ while attempting to recover an impounded vehicle which was part of a previous investigation. The man was subsequently released after posting $400.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
4:41 PM: Officer on patrol charged a 48-year-old male resident of Ossining with driving with a suspended license and an expired vehicle registration after being pulled over on Route 9 South. The man was subsequently released after posting $100.00 pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
9:44 PM: Officer on patrol charged a 49-year-old female resident of Croton with driving with a suspended license after being pulled over on South Riverside Avenue. The woman was subsequently released on her own recognizance pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
February 14
6:35 AM: Croton firefighters were dispatched to a residence on Hollis Lane after a report of smoke in the home. Shortly after arriving on the scene, responders determined the cause to be a result of a faulty oil burner.
8:02 PM: Croton firefighters were dispatched to a residence on Quaker Hill Drive after fire alarm was activated. Shortly after arriving on the scene, responders determined the cause to be a result of burning food.
8:12 PM: Patrol was dispatched to assist MTA Police with a fight that was taking place on an incoming train at the Croton Harmon train station. At the scene, police arrested an unidentified man and called an ambulance to take another person to the hospital for treatment of a head wound.
February 15
1:15 PM: Officer on patrol charged a 21-year-old male resident of Peekskill with driving with a forged inspection sticker. Additionally, police arrested the passenger in the car, an 18-year-old male resident of Peekskill, with unlawful possession of Marijuana, a violation. Both men were taken to police HQ where the 21-year-old man was subsequently remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 bail while the 18 year-old man was released pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
