Croton Police Blotter - Week of March 3rd

March 3
11:24 AM: There was a report from an employee at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School that sometime earlier in the day, someone started a fire in a dumpster located behind the school which subsequently caused damage to the container. The matter is under investigation.
1:44 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 24-year-old male resident of Peekskill for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over on Route 9 North. The man was later released after posting $200.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
4:35 PM: Police responded to a report of an altercation in the shopping center on South Riverside Avenue between two Shop-Rite employees. No injuries or charges were files as a result of the call.
March 5
12:16 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 22-year-old male resident of Ossining for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over on Route 9 South. The man was later released after posting $100.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
2:55 PM: There was a report from an employee at the GNC retail store on South Riverside Avenue that two men left the store without paying for merchandise. The matter is under investigation.
3:30 PM: There was a report from a resident of Maple Street that someone recently stole jewelry from her bedroom. The matter is under investigation.
6:06 PM: There was a report from a resident of Old Post Road North that someone had recently used her identity to open three cellular phone accounts. The matter is under investigation.
10:18 PM: There was a report about a suspicious man wearing a black ski mask on Grand Street. Patrol responded to the scene and was unable to locate the person in question.
March 7
1:56 PM: There was a report from a resident of Cleveland Drive that someone forced entry into her home and stole personal effects. The matter is under investigation.
6:53 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 30-year-old male resident of Buchanan for driving with a suspended license after he was pulled over on Route 9 South. The man was later released after posting $100.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
March 9
12:18 AM: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Brook Street. Subsequently, officer arrested a 31-year-old male resident of Shrub Oak with third-degree Assault, a misdemeanor, for punching a 25-year-old female resident of Croton several times. The woman refused medical treatment while the man was taken to Westchester County Jail in lieu of posting bail and is set to appear in village court.
3:01 PM: There was a report of shoplifting from an employee at the Goodwill store on South Riverside Avenue. Patrol responded to the scene and subsequently arrested a 29-year-old male resident of Ossining with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen goods. The man was later released pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
5:48 PM: Officer on patrol arrested a 31-year-old male resident of Peekskill for driving with a suspended license and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument after he was pulled over on Route 9. The man was taken to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of posting bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.
March 10
7:10 AM: There was a report from a resident of Cleveland Drive that while his car was parked overnight on Elmore Avenue, all four tires on his car were slashed. The matter is under investigation.
11:08 PM: Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on in Bari Manor. Subsequently, officer arrested one of the residents, a 43-year-old male resident of Croton with third-degree Assault, a misdemeanor. Though the female victim of the assault did not require medical attention, the man was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he remains in custody, pending his arraignment.
