'Under The Stars' Dinner Dance Set for May 10—Tickets on Sale Now
Tickets recently went on sale for The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation (CHEF) annual Under the Stars (UTS) Dinner Dance Fundraiser. This year Under the Stars will be on Saturday May 10th. The evening will start with a wine tasting at 5:30 PM followed by the Dinner, Dance, and Auction at 6:30 PM. In response to many requests from the community, Under the Stars is returning to the Senasqua Lodge, at Croton Point Park.
Susannah Johnston, once again overseeing Under the Stars said, “Under the Stars 2008 is going to be an incredible evening for Croton-on-Hudson with DJ Curt Love, from the Curtis Winchester Band, and Dinner from, Lobel’s, Main Street Restaurant Partners, and Monteverde.” Main Street Restaurant Partners, owners of Django, Calle Ocho, Rain, and BLT, some of Manhattan’s hottest restaurants, will be serving up their signature spicey food. The Lobel family has been serving up delectable beef for over 160 years. Here is a chance to be served by Evan Lobel himself. Chef Neil Ferguson, of Monteverde Restaurant, uses the finest ingredients available from local farmers who believe in sustainable and organic farming—UTS is a great opportunity for the community to get a taste of this wonderful local flavor.
As part of this year’s Under the Stars there will be a raffle to win the new MacBook Air (1.6 GHZ plus Superdrive) and iphone (16GB), worth over $2,500. Raffle tickets are being sold around town for $20/ticket, four raffle tickets for $60, and eight raffle tickets for $100.
This year’s Under the Stars Silent Auction is shaping up to be very exciting, with chances to win seats at the BCBG Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week; a dinner party for six offered by local chef Phillipe Rayer; amazing yankee tickets on the third base line, and of course weekends away, nights out, and more.
If you are interested in volunteering at Under the Stars, please contact Susannah Johnston at sjohnstn@aol.com. If you have a program idea—please share it with CHEF. Applications can be filled out by teachers or parents. Applications for the next grant cycle will be due May 1, 2008, with grants awarded June 30. The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation has been in existence for over eight years. Through the generous support of the Croton community, CHEF has provided over $367,000 for a variety of initiatives, many of which give students unique educational experiences that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.
