June 9

4:41 PM: Officers aboard the police boat patrolling the Croton River apprehended three youths, aged 14- to 16-years-old from Croton and Ossining, after they were spotted jumping from a cliff on private property into the Croton River off Nordica Drive. Two of the boys were later released to their parents while the 16-year-old youth was charged with trespass. He too was later released to his parents pending an upcoming appearance in village court.

June 11

2:44 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a speeding vehicle on North Riverside Avenue and subsequently charged the driver, a 25-year-old male resident of East Greenbush, NY, with driving with a suspended license and criminal impersonation, both misdemeanors. The man was later released after posting $250.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.

3:02 PM: Croton fire department responded to multiple reports of a fire next to Croton Hardware on North Riverside Avenue. Responders subsequently extinguished the small fire that originated in a storage area.

9:47 PM: There was a report from a resident of Wells Avenue that her 11-year-old daughter had received several inappropriate email messages. The matter is under investigation.

June 12

6:12 AM: There was a report from the parent of a 14-year-old student of Pierre Van Cortlandt middle school that their child had been assaulted by another student the previous day. The matter is under investigation.

11:38 AM: Officer on patrol observed four fifteen-year-old resident of Croton who were in possession of marijuana. The youths were subsequently taken into police custody and later released to their parents.

7:15 PM: Police responded to a residence on Harrison Street after receiving a complaint that the resident was getting harassing phone calls from a former acquaintance. Police subsequently urged the caller to stop.

June 13

9:33 AM: Firefighters responded to multiple reports of a two brush fires on Route 9—and subsequently extinguished them.

11:56 AM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that someone had recently tried to use his credit card to make a purchase. The matter is under investigation.

June 14

12:26 AM: There was a report from an 18-year-old female resident of Croton that she made direct contact with an intruder in her house. As a result, the unidentified Hispanic male who was reported to be about 30-years-old, 5’ 8” tall with a medium build, responded by pushing the resident on to her bed—and then fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, MTA police dispatched a canine unit to help Croton police locate the suspect—to no avail. While nothing was reportedly stolen and no one was injured, police are asking anyone with pertinent information regarding the case to 914-271-5177.

June 15

12:14 AM: There was a report from a male resident of Grand Street that while he was walking, a passing car threw eggs at him. The matter is under investigation.

12:46 PM: There was a report from a resident of Wood Road that a bag grass seed was taken from his property. The matter is under investigation.

1:58 PM: There was a report from a resident of Palmer Avenue that someone recently hammered nails into one of the tires on his car while it was parked in front of her house. The matter is under investigation.

June 16

5:08 PM: There were two calls from residents on Cleveland Drive about seeing a small black bear in their yards. Police advised the residents to stay inside their homes—while they searched for the bear to no avail.
