To the editor:
As a candidate for the Croton School Board, I have been attending many School Board meetings and listening to your concerns. While I see our current Board working hard and making difficult and, sometimes, unpopular, decisions, I have noticed that there needs to be some improvement in communicating those decisions to our community.
We live in a world that turns to the internet as its first source of information. The District should be investigating ways to better utilize this medium. I believe that by effectively communicating accurate information to you, the District can minimize any confusion within the community.
The simplest way that this information can be distributed is through the District’s website. However, our website needs a facelift. And while I am aware that this may cost some money, as your Board member, I can assure you that before the District incurs any expense to do this, we should reach out to our diverse community for some assistance - perhaps there is someone among us who could volunteer his/her time to make this a reality in this financially challenging time.
I promise to work hard to make sure the lines of communication between you and Board remains open. I want the best for our children. I hope that I can count on your support on May 19th.
