3:30 PM: Park Ranger reported that he observed a small fire on Mayo’s Landing in the Croton River area. Ranger had the youths tending the campfire extinguish it and leave the area without incident.
5:09 PM: There was a report of a car fire on Route 129 near Mt. Airy Road. Patrol, Croton Fire Department and New York State Police responded to the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.
July 4
4:20 AM: There was a complaint from a resident of Nordica Drive about a loud group of people in the area. Patrol responded to the scene and was unable to locate the group in question.
12:34 PM: There was a report from a resident of Morningside Drive that sometime overnight her car was hit with eggs. The matter is under investigation.

5:50 PM: There was a report from a resident of Oriole Lane that sometime during the past few days, someone “keyed” his Volkswagen, which was parked in front of his house. The matter is under investigation.

7:29 AM: There was a report from the owner of the Grand Street Laundromat that sometime overnight someone scorched the ceiling of the store with a butane lighter. The matter is under investigation.
7:40 PM: There was a report from New York Sports Club to report that sometime in the past 24 hours a cell phone was stolen that belonged to one of the members. The matter is under investigation.
7:50 PM: There was a report from a resident of Half Moon Bay that while his car was parked overnight, his car cover was stolen from his vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

6:51 PM: There was a report from a commuter at the Croton Harmon train station parking lot that at sometime during the day her parking permit was stolen from inside her car. The matter is under investigation.
8:26 PM: There was a report of a downed power line in the area of Hastings Avenue and Benedict Boulevard. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene. Subsequently, Con Edison was dispatched to repair the line.

12:01 PM: There was a report of a deer struck by a vehicle on Albany Road. Patrol responded to the scene and found an injured deer. Subsequently, police destroyed the animal and summoned Croton DPW to the scene to remove the animal.
12:34 PM: There was a report from an employee at Dom’s Friendly Service Station that someone left the station without paying for gas. The matter is under investigation.
5:32 PM: There was a report from the Ocean House Restaurant on North Riverside Avenue that sometime overnight a back door window was damaged. The matter is under investigation.

3:36 PM: There was a report from a resident of White Plains that while her car was parked was parked in front of Shop-Rite; her purse was stolen from her car. The matter is under investigation.
4:37 PM: There were several calls about a disorderly person riding on a county bus on South Riverside Avenue near Municipal Place. Patrol responded and escorted the individual off the bus and subsequently contacted a friend from the Peekskill area for transportation from Croton.

8:34 AM: There was a report from a resident on Devon Avenue about a burning odor coming from a ceiling fan inside his residence. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene and reported that the odor may indeed have come from a possible electrical fire in the area of the fan.
8:45 AM: There was a report of a small brush fire on Elliott Way just north of the Croton Yacht Club. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.
8:39 PM: There was a report from a resident on Park Avenue about a gas odor. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene and determined the odor originated from a nearby pool where chlorine was recently used for water treatment.

9:20 AM: Recreation Department reported that sometime overnight someone overturned the port-o-san at Dobbs Park. The matter is under investigation.
May 24
9:45 AM: Detectives arrested a 44-year-old female resident of Ossining for petty larceny of a wallet stolen from Skyview Nursing Home (see the May 8, 2006 blotter). The woman was brought to Police HQ were she was arraigned by the judge and was later released on her own recognizance. The individual was due in Village Court on May 31, 2006 at 9:30 AM.
12:42 PM: There was a report of an overturned sailboat with two residents of Putnam Valley aboard in the Hudson River. A private boater from New York City who was in the area helped the two people by bringing them ashore. There were no injuries reported.

8:31 AM: There was a report from the homeowner at a new construction site on Upper North Highland Place that—sometime overnight—58 windows were smashed, construction equipment was broken and the building structure itself was damaged. The matter is under investigation by Village of Croton-on-Hudson police detectives.
6:22 PM: There was a report from a passing motorist of a vehicle fire on Route 9 North near the Senasqua Road off ramp. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene but upon arrival found the fire to be extinguished. The vehicle was later towed away from the scene.

5:33 PM: There was a report from Skyview Nursing Home that at sometime during the previous day a wallet was stolen from one of the staff offices. The matter is under investigation.

8:59 AM: There was a report from the Croton Harmon High School staffer that an iPod was stolen from a student. The matter is under investigation.
8:53 PM: There was a report of a water leak in the area of Hastings Avenue and Devon Avenue. Patrol responded to the scene to confirm the leak and summoned the Water Department for a repair.

4:17 PM: There was a report of a brush fire in front of ET Equipment on South Riverside Avenue. Patrol and Fire Department responded to the scene but upon arrival found that ET employees had already extinguished the fire.
7:19 PM: There was a report about a disabled boat on the Hudson River—north of Croton Point Park. Fire Department responded to the scene by boat and towed the said water craft to the Senasqua park boat ramp.
May 3
8:30 AM: Detective arrested a 32-year-old female resident of Croton-on-Hudsont regarding an incident that occurred at Zeytinia (see Police Blotter for April 5, 2006). The woman was brought to Police HQ where she was arraigned by the judge and later released on her own recognisance.
