12:00 PM: There was a report from CVS Pharmacy about an individual who was shoplifting baby formula and left the store. Patrol responded to speak with the store personnel and commence an investigation.

6:57 PM: Patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 9 North for vehicle and traffic violations. Police arrested the driver for criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, the vehicle was towed and the driver, a 53-year-old Peekskill resident was brought to Police HQ, where he was charged and later released after posting $500.00 bail. The man is due in Village Court on March 1, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

3:28 PM: There was a report from a resident of Brook Trail that at some time during the day someone had entered her home and stole some jewelry. The matter is under investigation.

4:32 PM: Alarm company called to report an activated fire alarm on Quaker Hill Drive. Fire Department responded and determined that alarm was set off by a lit BBQ grill.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of January 30th

2:20 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 9 South. Upon further investigation, the driver, a 21-year-old Croton-on-Hudson resident, was arrested for false impersonation and aggravated unlicensed vehicle operation 2nd degree. The vehicle was towed; the individual was brought to Police HQ and later released on $200.00 bail. He is due in Village court on February 8, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

January 31

12:05 PM: There was a report of an altercation on Old Post Road South. Patrol responded and witnessed a dispute between two people. A 43-year-old Croton-on-Hudson resident was arrested for harassament 2nd degree, a violation. He was brought to HQ and later released without bail. He is due in Village court on February 8, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

9:45 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle traveling on Route 9 North for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon investigation, police officer arrested a 27-year-old male from Poughkeepsie for Criminal Impersonation; a misdemeanor, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree; a misdemeanor and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; a violation. The individual was arrested, brought to Police HQ where he was later released on $250.00 bail and is due in Village Court on February 1, 2006 at 9:30 AM.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of January 16th

There were several reports of downed trees and wires on Morningside Drive, Olcott Avenue, Mt. Airy Road and Truesdale Drive blocking roads. Patrol, Croton Department of Public Works and in some cases, Con Edison responded to clear debris from the blocked roads.

2:33 PM: There was a report from a resident on Lexington Drive that she heard a loud noise and smelled smoke in her home. Patrol and Fire Department responded and extinguished a fire in the kitchen. No injuries were reported.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of January 9th

10:27 AM: There was a report from the manager of Sav-Mor Drugs that employees were not feeling well as a result of smelling gas. Patrol and Fire Department responded, evacuated the building, ventilated the premises and later cleared the way for the occupants and customers to return to the store.

December 11

8:31 AM: The custodian at the Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School reported that sometime overnight someone had stolen an auto part from one of the trucks in the school parking lot. The matter is under investigation.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of January 2nd

Village of Croton on Hudson Police Blotter

December 4

8:49 AM: Detectives arrested a 31-year-old Ossining male for the robbery of the Exxon station on December 20, 2005 on an arrest warrant. The individual was arrested at the Westchester County Jail where he was being held on another charge. The man was brought back to Croton Police HQ, where he was processed and arraigned. Bail was set by the judge at $10,000 and the individual was later returned to the Westchester County Jail.

6:30 PM: There was a report from a resident of Olcott Avenue who reported a gas odor in their home. Fire Department and Patrol responded and determined that food on the stove was burning and was the cause of the smell. No injuries were reported.

8:06 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that sometime during the day a package that was delivered by UPS and left on his front porch was stolen. The matter is under investigation.

11:09 AM: There was a report from a resident on Park Trail that during the past several days a tire and rim assembly was stolen off his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence. The matter is under investigation.

Police Blotter - Week of December 19th

10:18 AM: There was a report from a resident of Sunset Lane about a worker on their premises who had injured their arm while working with a saw. Patrol and ambulance responded, administered first aid and transported the individual to the Westchester County Medical Center for treatment.

12:43 PM: There was a report from a resident on Sunset Drive who had locked their keys in their car while it was running. Patrol responded and gained access to the vehicle without incident.

3:32 PM: The parking enforcement officer reports possible damage to one of the handicap meters in Veteran’s Plaza. Upon further investigation by Patrol, it was determined that the damage was a result on weather-related wear and tear.

Police Blotter - SPECIAL BULLETIN

2:49 AM: There was a robbery, meaning a forcible stealing of property, at the Exxon Station on South Riverside Avenue where a black male entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. During the robbery, no weapon was displayed and no one was hurt, though $50.00 in cash was stolen. The suspect fled the scene in a taxi. The matter is under investigation.
