12:43 PM: There was a report from a contractor who was working at the intersection of South Riverside Avenue and Oneida Avenue that he broke the gas main. Patrol and Fire Department responded and shut off gas, evacuated the immediate area then shut down the road between Bungalow Road and Benedict Blvd. Con Edison repaired the gas main without incident or injury.
8:19 PM: There was a report from a resident on Arlington Avenue about youths in the area ringing doorbells and then running away. Patrols responded and were unable to locate any of the youths in question.
9:27 PM: There was a report from a resident on Benedict Boulevard about a group of youths loitering on the road and obstructing traffic. Patrol responded and cleared the area with out incident.

September 27
9:06 PM: Patrol stopped a vehicle traveling on Route 9 South for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon investigation, officer found the driver to be in Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, violation. The driver’s car was impounded, he was brought to police headquarters, where he was later released and is due in Village Court on October 5, 2005 at 9:30 AM
9:10 PM: A resident of Batten Road reported what he thought was a rifle shot in the area of Daley Drive. Patrol responded and no evidence of a gun shot.
10:12 PM: The was a report from a resident from Half Moon Bay about what he thought was a rifle shot. Patrol and Westchester County police responded and no evidence of a gun shot.

September 20
5:54 PM: There was a report from the Goodwill Industries on South Riverside Avenue of a person shoplifting in the store. Patrol responded and arrested a 40-year-old Mount Vernon resident with Petty Larceny. The man was brought to police headquarters, released on $500.00 bail and is due in Village Court on September 28, 2005 at 9:30 AM.
September 21
7:36 PM: There was a report from a resident in the Van Wyck apartments on Grand Street about a gas leak in the stove. Patrol, Fire Department and the building superintendent responded and turned off the gas without incident.

10:56 AM: There was a report from a resident on Cleveland Drive of a burning smell coming from her basement. Patrol and Fire Department responded, determined that a light ballast was the cause and disconnected the light without incident.
3:43 PM: There was a report from a resident of Hastings Avenue that while his daughter and friends were walking home from PVC, a resident of Olcott Avenue, was yelling at them near the intersection of Olcott Avenue and Maple Avenue. The caller went to Olcott to speak to the person in question and subsequently followed the individual to the Croton Harmon West Yards where Patrol responded. Police determined that the person in question was apparently yelling at the girls because they were touching a freshly painted white line on the road. Patrol spoke to everyone involved, advising them of proper action to take in the future, without further incident.

5:34 PM: There was a call from an employee at Hudson National Golf Club about a hiker on the course who would not leave the property as requested. Patrols responded and was unable to locate the person in question.
September 8
7:02 AM: There was a report from a resident of Observatory Drive about a sick skunk near her sidewalk. Patrol responded to destroy and dispose of the animal without any stink.
1:22 PM: There was a call from a bus dispatcher at a private bus company, Miles Square, reporting that one of their drivers was driving on Route 9 North, and called in to report that another driver had displayed a knife as they passed the bus. Patrol responded and was unable to locate the car in question.

8:05 AM: There was a report of a burglary at the clubhouse at Halfmoon Bay. Suspects entered the facility through the gym and damaged the property by leaving graffiti and having stolen some weight lifting equipment. The matter is under investigation.
August 31
2:36 AM: A tree limb was blocking the roadway on Mt. Airy Road. Patrol responded and cleared the road without incident.
10:57 AM: There was a report of a tree and wire down Old Post Road North and Brook Street. Patrol responded and called DPW, who responded to clear the roadway.
5:16 PM: There was a report from County Fire Control Department at Croton Point Park about a dumpster fire in the campground area. Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire without incident.

6:38 PM: A fire alarm was activated at the Metropolitan Transit Authority repair shop, in Harmon. Fire Department responded and determined that it was a false alarm.
6:48 AM: There was a report from a resident of Elmore Avenue that someone had thrown a melon at the caller’s home. Patrol responded and the matter is under investigation.

10:16 AM: A fire alarm was activated at the Metropolitan Transit Authority repair shop, in Harmon. Fire Department responded to provide assistance and determined that the alarm was set off because of low water pressure in the building.
9:14 PM: There was a report from a resident of Truedale Drive about a gas odor in the house. Patrol and Fire Department responded and ventilated the home as the gas from the stove had been escaping for 20 about minutes.

4:20 PM: The park ranger reported a disorderly group near Mayo’s Landing and requested that the group leave the area without incident.
4:25 PM: There was a report of a brush fire near the west yard area of the Metro North property. Patrols and Fire Department responded and discovered that Metro North personnel had been cutting some equipment, which caused the fire. Fire Department assisted in safely extinguishing the burning materials.

9:47 AM: There were several reports of a ladder in the roadway on Route 9 North near Croton Point Avenue. Patrol responded, located the owner of the ladder, assisted in moving the ladder to the side of roadway and later assisted owner in securing ladder to said vehicle.
2:00 PM: A resident of Nordica Drive reported a stolen garden hose and criminal mischief to the sidewalk in front of the residence. Patrol responded to confirm theft and damage. The matter is under investigation.
3:27 PM: There was a report of an odor of gas in the area of Hastings Avenue. Fire Department responded and safeguarded the area until Con Edison arrived to confirm that no gas was found to be leaking.
