September 24

5:55 PM: There was a report of an odor of natural gas at the intersection of North Riverside Avenue and Bank Street. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and subsequently dispatched Con Edison to further investigate and make a repair if necessary.

September 25

1:33 AM: Officer on patrol pulled a vehicle over on Route 9 South for vehicle and traffic violations. Subsequently, police officer arrested a 49-year-old male resident of Cortlandt Manor with DWI. The man was taken to police HQ where he was later released after posting $250.00 bail pending an upcoming appearance in village court.

10:32 AM: Croton Fire Department was dispatched to the Croton Harmon train yard after a fire alarm was activated. The cause of the alarm was determined to have been a result of dust in the area.

3:25 PM: There was a report from a resident of Ossining that while her car was parked on Croton Point Avenue, someone keyed the paint.

10:24: There was a report from an employee at a group home on Mount Green Road that her cell phone was stolen. The matter is under investigation.

3:35 PM: Croton Fire Department was dispatched to extinguish a small brush fire located in the center median of Route 9 near Senasqua Road.

September 20

10:08 AM: There was a report from a resident of Old Post Road South that sometime overnight a fence on his propert was damaged by a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

9:18 PM: Croton Fire Department’s marine unit was dispatched to a assist a boater in the Hudson River near Georges Island.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of September 10th

12:55 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that some time overnight, someone damaged the windshield wipers on her car that was parked in front of her home. The matter is under investigation.

3:33 PM: County Fire Control reported an activated fire alarm at a residence on Quaker Hill Drive. Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that a faulty microwave oven was the cause of the alarm.

September 13

9:21 AM: There was a report from a resident of Old Post Road South that sometime overnight, two solar-powered outdoor lights were stolen from his yard. The matter is under investigation.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of August 27th

10:36 AM: There was a report from a resident on Olcott Avenue about an electric transformer explosion on a nearby telephone pole. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to extinguish and burning wire while Con Edison arrived shortly thereafter to fix the power lines.

7:20 PM: There was a report from a resident of Mt. Kisco that while his car was parked at the Croton Harmon train station parking lot someone defaced a bumper sticker on his car. The matter is under investigation.

11:06 PM: There was a report of an altercation between two people on Farrington Road. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the involved persons to leave the area without further incident.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of August 20th

September 5, 2007

August 22

11:22 AM: There was a report from an employee at the Goodwill store on South Riverside Avenue about an incident of shoplifting. Patrol responded to the scene and subsequently charged a 60-year-old female resident of Brooklyn with petit larceny. After posting $200.00 bail, the woman was released pending a future appearance in village court.

August 23

8:39 AM: County fire control dispatched Croton Fire Department to a residence on Albany Post Road after a report of a fire in the area. Upon arrival to the scene, firefighters encountered a man who was tending an open fire next to his driveway and subsequently extinguished it as open fires are prohibited by law.

10:14 AM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street about a package on the ground under a nearby USPS mailbox. Patrol responded to the scene, determined that the FedEx box was for a nearby resident and subsequently contacted them to come and pick up the package.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of August 13th

2:26 PM: Alarm company reported an activated fire alarm at a residence on Quaker Bridge Road. Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the alarm was caused by workers at the home.

4:31 PM: There was a report from a resident of Darby Avenue that someone had broken into their garage. Patrol responded to the scene and confirmed that nothing was taken. The matter is under investigation.

6:47 PM: Park ranger, while on patrol, asked a group of non-residents of Croton to leave Black Rock Park, on Quaker Bridge Road.

Croton Police Blotter - Week of July 30th

7:28 PM: There was a report from a resident of Cleveland Drive who was being harassed by a telemarketer. On behalf of the complainant, Croton Police contacting said business entity and had them “cease and desist” from calling the woman.

July 31

1:58 PM: There was a report from a motorist that several cones had fallen off a truck near the Croton River Bridge on Route 9. Patrol responded to the scene and remove the cones from the roadway.

10:04 PM: Officer on patrol charge a 25-year-old female resident of Ossining with vehicle and traffic violations and driving without a license on Route 9. The woman was taken to Police HQ, later released after posting $100.00 bail and is due in village court at a later date.

4:43 PM: There was a report about a group of youth playing in the street on Alexander Lane. Patrol responded to the scene and asked them to move off the street.

July 23

11:25: There was a report from a resident of Bank Street about fraudulent use of his credit card involving purchases over the Internet.

6:42 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle traveling on Route 9 North. In addition be being charged with numerous vehicle and traffic violation, police charged a 29-year-old male resident of Ossining with Driving with a Suspended License. The man was brought to Police HQ where he was released after posting $250.00 bail and was given a future date to appear in village court.

2:42 PM: There was a report from a man at the Van Wyck shopping center that a computer printer and a toolbox was stolen from his vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

11:38 AM: There was a report from a resident of Croton that while her car was parked in the parking lot in the Shop Rite plaza, someone keyed her car. The matter is under investigation.

6:42 PM: There was a report from a resident of South Riverside Avenue about some loud music coming from a neighboring home. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the person in question to lower the volume.

9:39 PM: There was a report about fireworks on Mt. Airy Road. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.

10:15 PM: There was a report about fireworks North Riverside Avenue near Farrington Road. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.

11:37 PM: There was a report about fireworks in the area of Brook Street. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
