8:56 PM: Officer on patrol pulled over a car on Route 9 North for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, officer arrested a 18-year-old male resident of Peekskill with unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The man was brought to Police HQ where he was charged and later released.
June 26
11:16 AM: There was a report from a resident of Hopewell Junction that her car, on Maple Street, was on fire. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.
7:00 PM: There was a report of a large group of people on the Croton River at Mayo’s Landing. Patrol responded to the area and asked those without either Croton Parks and Recreation ID card or a New York State fishing license to leave the area.

2:58 PM: There was a report of a brush fire in the center median on Route 9 North near Croton Point Avenue. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and subsequently extinguished the fire.
5:42 PM: There was a report of a brush fire in the center median on Route 9 North near Senasqua Road. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and subsequently extinguished the fire.
June 19
4:11 AM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Maple Street for Vehicle and Traffic violations. Upon investigation police arrested an 18-year-old Mount Vernon resident for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Impersonation, both misdemeanors, and said Vehicle and Traffic Violations. The man was brought to Police HQ, later released after posting $500 bail and was due in village court on June 20th, 2007 at 9:30 AM.
1:41 PM: Croton detectives brought three 15-year-old male residents of Croton-on-Hudson to police HQ for trespassing on private property near Mayo’s Landing. The boys in question were later released to their parents. Croton youth officer will follow up on the case.

4:33 PM: There was a report from a resident of Young Avenue about a raccoon in her house. Patrol responded to the scene, unable to remove the animal from the premises, they advised the resident to contact wildlife control service.
June 12
12:51 PM: The custodian at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School reported that someone threw a rock at his vehicle while it was parked in the school lot. The matter is under investigation.
6:22 PM: There was a report from a resident of Morningside Drive that sometime over the past three months, some personal items were stolen from here home including jewelry. The matter is under investigation.

June 4
3:28 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Grand Street for vehicle and traffic violations. Upon further investigation, police arrested an 18-year-old male resident of Ossining for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, and other vehicle and traffic violations. The man was brought to police HQ where he was later released on his own recognizance and is due in village court on June 6, 2007 at 9:30 AM.
10:29 PM: There was a report from a resident of Grand Street that while she was walking her dogs she encountered a coyote. After she yelled at the coyote—the animal ran-off.
June 5
10:56 AM: There was a report from a resident of Finney Farm Road about a gas smell in her home. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the source of the odor was a heater/boiler malfunction.
2:45 PM: There was a report from a resident of Sunset Drive about an injured deer on his property. Patrol responded to the scene and destroyed the animal.

2:53 PM: There was a report from a resident of Young Avenue about a smoldering pile of mulch in her yard. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the brush fire thought to have been started by a cigarette.

6:08 PM: There was a report from a resident of Old Post Road South about smoke in his house. Patrol and croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the source of the smoke was due to a malfunctioning washer and dryer.
10:17 PM: Officers arrested three 18-year-old female residents of Croton-on-Hudson at the Harrison Street playground for Trespassing After Hours and Unlawful Possession of Alcoholic Beverages. The women were brought to Police HQ, later released on their own recognizance and are due in Village Court on June 6, 2007 at 9:30 AM.

5:24 PM: There was a report from a resident of Peekskill that while he was working at a residence on Sunset Drive someone broke into his parked car and stole his pants, wallet and other personal belongings. The matter is under investigation.

May 16
There were several separate reports from residents on Truesdale Drive, Morningside Drive and Sunset Drive that approximately nine vehicles that were left unlocked and parked on the street were entered. Police report minor thefts in some of the reported occurrences. The matter is under investigation.
9:45 AM: Croton detectives arrested a 31-year-old male resident of Peekskill for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, cocaine, a felony, on a warrant at the Westchester County Jail. The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation. The man was transported to Croton where he appeared in front of the judge and was subsequently remanded back to jail. The man is due in village court on May 30, 2007 at 9:30 AM.
3:15 PM: Croton police received approximately 80 calls from residents in the village regarding the storm that swept through the area causing down trees, downed wires and damage to property.

12:27 PM: Alarm company called to report an activated fire alarm at a residence on Fox Run Road. Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined the cause of the alarm to be burning food in the kitchen.

6:55 AM: A custodian at PVC Middle School reported that sometime overnight a window in the rear of the school was broken. The matter is under investigation.
9:40 PM: There was a report from a resident of Brooke Street about a noisy group of youths in the area. Patrol responded to the scene and asked them to leave the area without incident.

6:40 PM: There was a report from a resident on Maple Street about a deck fire. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
May 2
2:48 PM: Officer on patrol stopped a car for Vehicle and Traffic Violations on Old Post Road South. Upon further investigation, officer arrested the passenger, an 18-year-old resident of Croton, of the car for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation and will appear in village court on May 16, 2007 at 9:320 AM. The driver was issued summons for said Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
May 3
There was a report of a motorcycle accident on Route 9 North near the Montrose exit. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and found the driver, a 35-year-old resident of White Plains, had died as a result of an accident with a car and the guardrail. The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old resident of Mahopac, was also injured and was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital Center. The accident remains under investigation.

4:44 PM: There was a report from a resident of Hastings Avenue that sometime in the past two days someone deflated the air in the tires of his parked car. The matter is under investigation.

Croton detectives arrested a 31-year-old resident of Croton-on-Hudson on the charge of Falsely Reporting an Incident, a misdemeanor. The man, who reported a burglary that did not occur, was brought to Police HQ, later released on his own recognizance and is due in village court at a later date.
