Croton Blog: Local Food Bank Seeks Volunteers
Food-PATCH (Food People Allied to Combat Hunger), the Westchester County Food Bank is seeking community volunteers in the following areas;
Warehouse: Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM or Saturdays (once a month) from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Repacker/sorters of food for distribution (upcoming on 09/03, 10/01, 11/05 & 12/03/05). Repacking involves sorting cans/packages according to categories for distribution to our member agencies. It can also include packing dry ingredients like pasta or rice from large containers to smaller packages.
- Warehouse Assistants
Office Administration: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Order Takers
- Secretarial/Office Assistant
- Direct Mailers
Other:
- Hosts - Help is needed with Food-PATCH gala benefits, health fairs, gift wrapping booths, food drives and “Check Out Hunger” fundraisers
- Professional Services - Professional help is also appreciated from those with experience in the legal, accounting, public relations, photography and gardening fields

Note: All groups must call the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule a Repack date. No-open toe shoes are permitted in the warehouse for safety reasons please.
