Croton Blog: Croton Police Blotter - Week of July 2nd

July 3
11:38 AM: There was a report from a resident of Croton that while her car was parked in the parking lot in the Shop Rite plaza, someone keyed her car. The matter is under investigation.
6:42 PM: There was a report from a resident of South Riverside Avenue about some loud music coming from a neighboring home. Patrol responded to the scene and asked the person in question to lower the volume.
9:39 PM: There was a report about fireworks on Mt. Airy Road. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
10:15 PM: There was a report about fireworks North Riverside Avenue near Farrington Road. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
11:37 PM: There was a report about fireworks in the area of Brook Street. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
July 4
11:46 AM: There was a report from a resident of Truesdale Drive about a car parked where the occupants were trespassing on the way to the Croton River. Park Ranger responded to the area and asked the persons in question to leave the area.
3:07 PM: There was a report from a resident of Quaker Bridge Road that sometime overnight, his mailbox was damaged. The matter is under investigation.
8:59 PM: There was a report about fireworks in the area of Thompson Avenue. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
10:02 PM: There was a report about fireworks in the area of Radnor Avenue. Patrol responded to the scene but was unable to locate any persons lighting fireworks.
July 5
10:27 AM: There was a report from a resident of Warren Road about a smoke detector activation in their home. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene and determined that the smoke detector was malfunctioning.
6:07 PM: There was a report about a man in a white truck on Mt. Green Road selling food. Patrol responded to the scene and had the man stop selling until he got the proper permit from the village.
July 6
6:28 AM: Custodian at PVC Middle School reported that sometime overnight someone broke a window on a district truck that was parked in the school lot. The matter is under investigation.
4:04 PM: There was a report of a brush fire on Route 9 North, near Route 129. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene but was unable to locate the fire in question.
July 7
11:50 PM: There was a report of a disorderly group of youths in the area around Brook Street. Patrol responded to the area and asked the persons in question to leave the area.
July 8
12:47 PM: There was a call from a resident of Alexander Lane to report that she was locked in a room in her home. Patrol responded to the scene and was able to gain access to the room.
2:15 PM: Park Ranger reported that there was a group of disorderly youths at Silver Lake Park. Subsequently, he asked the persons in questions to leave the area.
5:59 PM: There was a report from a resident of Croton that while she was at one of the stores at Croton Commons, two days prior, her cell phone was stolen. The matter is under investigation.
July 9
6:25 PM: There was a report from a resident of Cleveland Drive that his fire alarm was activated after he accidentally set a rag on fire while working. Patrol and Croton Fire Department responded to the scene to find that the fire was already extinguished.
July 10
12:35 AM: There was a report of a disorderly group of youths in the area around Brook Street. Patrol responded to the area and asked the persons in question to leave the area.
