Westchester to Host 2007 Empire State Games
Culminating a two-year lobbying effort, Westchester County will get the Empire State Games in 2007. County Executive Andy Spano said he has been informed by the state that it has selected Westchester as the site for this annual competition. “I want to thank Governor Pataki and the state’s Empire State Games committee for selecting Westchester,” Spano said. “The county is an ideal site and this will be a fabulous event.”

I Want To Ride My Bicycle
Mountain Bike Rides
E/T Cycles, located at 75 South Riverside Ave. on Croton hosts Mountain Bike Rides on Tuesday evenings at 5:30. Riders should meet in the E/T Cycles parking lot and be prepared to start riding at 6:00.
Road Bike Rides
The staff and friends of E/T Cycles will be meeting for group road rides on Saturday mornings at 7:30 am sharp.
Rides start at the intersection of Rt. 100 and Rt. 118 and head southbound on 100 then on to the North County Trailway to Rt. 117 in Pleasantville and back for a total of 15 miles.
- Rides are for experienced and self-sufficient riders
- Please be prepared, no on-the-spot tune-ups
- Helmets are a must
Tune-up Workshops on Saturday Mornings
E/T Cycles, hosts bicycle maintanence clinics on Saturday mornings (May 7, Jun 4, Jul 2, Aug 6, Sep 3, Oct 1, Nov 5 & Dec 3) at 8:00 am sharp. They E/T staff will provide you with the basic knowledge needed to fix a flat, make minor adjustments, perform on the road/trail emergency repairs, and how to do a pre-ride bike check-over.
The tune-up clinics, coffee and donuts are free of charge.

Leatherman's Loop 10k Registration Open
Last year, I ran in the Leatherman's Loop 10k race for the first time. Basically, you run through the woods and cross a waist-deep stream twice. So, if your looking to add another race (besides the Chapin) to your schedule this year, consider this one.

Divisional Basketball Championship Begins March 10
